Hey Guys, here's a little update about my Nerfing.

The Acebow has been at a standstill for one reason. The spring. Although I bought one of an awesome Nerfer, ( NoM) and that should be in the mail soon. I also need a new part for it , and even a new Plunger tube..

My Quadshot. I need the Quadshot and one of those Supa Springs that MiG uses..

UMBstrike . Need Brass, Goop and Vinyl Tubing connectors.

So i've always wanted a homemade that works. I now have the opportunity. I am going to build a Snap Bow and Maybe ( If I can Find some 1 inch PVC or similar ) an ACEbow. I want a Nice reliable , rifle like Snap that gets decent range. So my message to the Snap bow

WSNO Aftermath

So WSNO was really fun - even though it was only Me and MMU9.
We used various blasters and melee weapons. Rounds included dual wielding Alpha Troopers and rolling around in cardboard boxes. Also , I recently got an Xploderz Stormer 1000 and plan to do some epic mods to it

NERF LONGSHOT(NEEDS A NAME)

Hey guys hunter the nerf assassin here.
Today i am showing you my nerf longshot that i have modded.

this thing shoots 75 ft flat. this blaster took me 1 month of Modding and 2 months of painting (mainly finding enamel paint)
sorry for the horrible quality this was taken with my iPod.

New Location and finds

Hey guys , I'm not dead (not that anyone cares) But I just moved house and wont have WiFi til the 22nd August. It sucks and the only internet I have is the (very) slow BlackBerry internet. Anyway I've been looking around for some good primaries for WSNO and I found some. I went to Argos yesterday and picked up 2 Alpha Troopers for £30 , I also found some glow darts and ELITE DARTS!!!. I checked the stock to see if they had any elite blasters in stock - but they didnt. Also in the catalog they seemed to be shooting Streamlines out of the Elite blasters rather than elite darts..... epicfail argos. Anyway Elite Darts are AWESOME!! They perform much better in my CS blasters and When you shine a UV light on them they turn AWESOME ...hehehehe anyway its 1 week til WSNO and I'm prepping my blasters. New Project Idea

Hey Guys it's Than.

I've been thinking about doing a massive project in the future. If the next few commissions work out I may have the pleasure of working on something very special. This blaster would be mine for use in HvZ and would dominate the zombie world if completed. Any of you that have heard of a Swarmpede know if it's effectiveness in the HvZ setting. For those of you who don't know here's what a Swarmpede looks like:

Now that is an impressive sight. Not only scary but effective if used right. Only mine will look even more impressive than this. My Idea is to make a Radioactive Swarmpede combining a sonic stampede and a swarmfire to make a black and green monster, that glows green when Zombies are near!

I won't jump into anything yet but I think I'm going to slowly acquire the blasters, materials, and know how to make a blaster that will bring fear back into the hearts of the undead.

I'll keep you all informed any time I make progress I make on this. but it is something I am working towards.

OLD NERF BLASTERS BECOME EVIL

I was bored at 11:07 am (its 12:17 right now)

So I went to my workshop/garage/dungeon/Hunters evil lair

and I looked at all my old projects  (maverick with a grey primer paint job and a Lanard shotgun) and I thought to my self (MUST TURN OLD CRAPPY BLASTERS INTO KILLING MACHINES)

So I took my metallic blue enamel paint and my micro brush and I started working on them 2 blasters

What too bring:
A) DARTS, we will be renting darts to but we are starting to run quite low. So yea...man up and make your own. I recommend at least 50  per person you are bringing with you (more if you are using hoppered springers).

- I dont mind scavenging 

-The only restrictions on darts I am placing is No Slingshots, and darts must have at least a inch of foam. It has always worked fine for us, and I am not changing it now.

B ) BLASTERS, Bring at least two RELIABLE primaries, springer pistol, and a Awful (shoots 15ft or less). Stuff breaks, so bring extras. I will be bringing my  toolkit (and some supplies), however that DOES NOT mean I want to sit out rounds fixing something, you are free to do so if you wish. Bring a Awful if you plan on participating in the after-lunch Hilariously fun gametype (probably 2-3 rounds of this).

-DO NOT bring anything Crazy overpowered (I am specifically looking at homemade airguns) or a singled Ultimator, We will still allow the normal singled BBBBs and the like (Please use slugs with these). If your primary is deemed to be too much, I WILL ask you to put it down. If it shoots more than 140ft flat , dont even bother bringing it

-Realistic blasters are dumb.

-Melee is acceptable

-Blaster hits DO NOT count, this however does not mean you can strap a large shield to your blaster. Be smart, or I will ban it.


Other things to bring:
-LUNCH,  just bring one with you. Trust me, a turkey sandwich tastes just fine after you have been Nerfing for a few hours.
-WATER, Bring some, IT WILL BE HOT. I would say bring at the very least close to a gallon. Drink plenty.
-SUNSCREEN, the sun will likely be out, and I have gotten some horrific burns. Just do it. (I am sure we can find a burly man to help you rub it on)
-EYE PROTECTION, We fire some heavyweight darts (not that it matters), YOU WILL BE WEARING THEM WHILE ATTENDING. I couldn't care less if you are 18 or not.
-A fold-able chair, these make resting in between rounds so nice (if you have one/can fit one)
-Something to lay your blasters out on/in, unless you don't mind them laying in the grass
-Money/Blasters for Trading, we like to do a lot of this down here, so bring what ya got.
-Intelligence, Don't be an idiot.
-A good attitude, if you act like a crybaby we will escort you off the premises as a crybaby.
-Bring a loaner blaster if you got one, stuff happens.

Hey guys BBV here and this is the second post of Where to buy stuff in the UK. Firstly I have a few things to say. 1. This should have been posted on Thursday, Its friday now ( GMT +00:00 ) 2. I'm getting a BBUMB 3. I'm hosting a war (WSNO) and 4.MMU9 is attending , Also i'll get a post up about WSNO soon.

I currently own some 13mm FBR and Fishing Weights , The FBR i got from Amazon here and the fishing weights I got from my local fishing shop.
As Americans would say ,' I use Home Depot FBR with 2 Copper BB's and Hot Glue Domes  , or ' Well I use 3/0 MHA foam  Slugs' or what ever combination, Well United Kingdom , Embrace The Suck , We don't get everything that the USA gets. We get decent foam and okay fishing weights , I use 1.5'' Glue Domes w/ 0.4g weights , as they fit nicely and weight them well, but as some of you might not know , I'm moving back to England and I'm going to have a very , very big variety of shops to browse. I currently do not know of any shops that supply FBR or Weights or Washers or Felt Pads YET.. So when i move back I will have a big look as I want to introduce a Slug/Dome regime in the UK , if I can find Slug Material I hope to Enforce Slug only wars in the UK as Hot glue domes can be made very incorrectly and can be dangerous.
But long story short , If you want to find the right diameter FBR its either 13mm or 1/2''.
So I'll report back after my move. Also today I finished school for the summer , so roll on the Sun Screen and break out your screw drivers as its Mod time

MMU9's custom NERF assassins creed gunblade!!! (my finished secret project)

hey guys, MMU9 here, i know i haven't posted in a while so apologies on my part. but on to the reason of this post, a write up of my secret project!

pretty shmick huh? the materials i used to make them were: two old rollerskate wrist guards, 2 NERF jolts, 2 20cm lengths of 15mm PE-X, 2 20cm lengths of 15mm insulation pipe, 2 keyrings and 2 lengths of string (approx. 9cm long but the optimum string length would depend on your wrist dimensions, gauntlet dimensions etc.)

a close up on the set up of the weapon, i used a two part epoxy (araldite) to glue the jolt and the coupler into place.

the trigger of the jolt is connected to a piece of string which is then connected to a key ring which goes on you middle finger, to fire simply pull up on the string with your finger.

the jolts won't fire stock darts, but instead like to fire my slugs which are just NERF foam with a washer weight and then more foam to reduce the pain upon impact (because believe it or not i do want these beasts to be war legal!)

Today im really bored so i decided to make a nerf game mode,
This game mode has 6 classes

1:assasin (weapons:nerf melee weapon,nerf pistol,nerf (anyslamfire blaster)
2:heavy (weapons: fully automatic blaster,semi automatic blaster)
3:spartan (weapons:nerf longshot(noscope)nerf pistol)
4:scout(weapons:double barrel shotguns or dual wielding rayvens nerf nite finder)
5:berserker(weapons: large melee weapon and shield)
6:soldier(weapons:any weapon melee weapons)
the rules

all players have 10 hit points
damages
head:10
arms:3
torso:4
legs:3

if your hit points turn to 0
your dead and you have to sit out of the game until the next round

there is also a capture the flag game mode
in this mode its all about getting the flag
deaths are not counted
there are 3 flags on each team
all players must grab all three flags and put them in their base
the teams are red and blue
but it changes if you are in a nerf group.
if you die during the game in capture the flag you have to respawn at your spawn point
the time limit for both game modes are 10 minutes

Where to buy stuff in the UK

Hey guys Its BlackBoarderV here , and this is going to start of my weekly segment, every thursday.
Its going to be about where you can buy stuff in the UK, seeing as things are VERY hard to come by.

So todays Items are things that the UK can get but the USA can't , Nerf Longshots , The Longshot is the Original Clip System Blaster and has been released in three colours , Blue, Yellow and the Extremely Rare , Black Friday Deal, Crimson. The Longshot has the largest - direct plunger system in a Nerf blaster so far. , As you should know Direct plungers are much better as they achieve better ranges than Reverse Plunger Blasters. It is also the most favourited gun to mod as there are so many different mods to do to it , such as an Angel or Brass Breach , LSFG , Maverick . Titan  or Barricade Integrations and so many other ones.

So onto why the UK can and USA can't. Well when the Longstrike was released , they discontinued the Longshot which was a Pain in the Neck to all of the US Nerfers, On the other hand , us UK Nerfers can still get them on Amazon ( for a ridiculous price of £77 ) or at Toys R Us for £40 , it was £30 a while back but sadly they increased it. Now you can't just go and buy a £40 Longshot off www.toysrus.co.uk  you have to reserve it. Now Please Reserve it and make sure that there is one in stock at your nearest TRU because theres nothing more disappointing than going to TRU which could be miles away and not getting a LS. At Toys R Us in the UK we get the yellow Longshot as pictured above. So yes if you are a UK Nerfer , save up , Reserve the LS and go pick it up! BBV out
-EDIT- Ironically enough my local TRU doesnt have any in stock , So that was going to be a pain for MMU9 and I , as we are meeting up and go and buy a Longshot each , but we are going to a different one now.

nerf alpha trooper NAME HELP

New Cheap Plunger Head

So I was wanting to make a decent plunger head for my Bow and i was watching Uin13's vid on HAMPS and saw this alternative plunger head and I also had a lego wheel on my desk , So I took the rubber part of it off and it had a near to perfect fit in 1 1/4inch PVC.
So then i filled in the Gaps with hot glue and got this

Then I tried wrapping etape around it and thought , This is going nowhere , I have a box of O-Rings on my desk , why not use them.

So I got a new wheel  ,  filled in the holes but with not as much hot glue as before and tested some of the O-rings and found the ones that gave a nice seal.

I then put more hot glue in and pushed the plunger rod straight in and then put that into cold water , to dry the glue quicker , i then put a ring of superglue around it to secure it.

I then greased it up , with the wrong stuff as i don't have Silicon or Lithum Grease and your done.

I think with the correct grease it will get a better seal and be smoother in your blaster

but heres the final product

My 4B: A full review

Lo all, it's TheRoboteer. Now, as you may know. My 4B has been seen and mentioned in MANY videos. But I've never done a full review of it. This review will not be posted up on YouTube so it's exclusive to NerfUniversal. Anyway, let's get onto it.

 The front. The cut is reasonably clean but you can see that I messed up in some places

 Internals. They are largely untouched apart from the coupler and the plugged pump.I used the lego wheel style coupler for this one as the air pressure was so high that it blew the barrel out of the brass coupler!

Retaliator Range Test and Other Elite News

Well it looks like a fella got his hands on the Rampage and the Retaliator early. He also got a bunch of elite darts and the new clip that's going to be sold separate.

So good news is it looks like Nerf will be selling 18 round clips by them selves which is awesome!!! This will be a great way to stock up. the price is yet to be determined and could not even be worth it. Only time will tell but my hope is that they will be in the $10 range or so, but it will more likely be either $15 or (heaven forbid) $20. I will be looking forward to see what price they will be and you can bet that the amount of clips I buy will be dependent on the price they ask for it.

Unfortunately the video isn't that clear, but he says that they get 54 feet and 57-58 feet with elite darts. Now I notice a couple of things. The Normal nerf dart that was fired didn't go very far. So it looks like using the elite darts with these new blasters may be a must. This might be by design, as nerf wants you to buy more product. Also these ranges were fired with the barrel on, so the 75 feet may be not as made up as previously thought. I think that with the barrel off and a slight angel you could get 75 feet. It looks promising so far. We can only hope for the best.

Radioactive Maverick Commission

Hey guys it Than. I finally completed  my Radioactive Maverick mod and I am VERY pleased with it and I now my commissioner will like it as well. These are the mods I did to it:

- AR and post removal
- 5 Penny Mod
- Full Barrel Drop
- Semi-gloss black paint job with green enamel paint details
- 4 Green LED's
- Swapped black maverick with sonic series Maverick.

This mod was pretty easy to do but required a lot of time and hard work. I first had to sand down the standard maverick which took a while, and then paint it. After I painted it it was as simple as switching out the parts and making 2 blasters. Which produced something like this:

After that I did some detailing with some green enamel paint to ease the green in with the rest of the blaster.

Next was the LED's

The LED job was pretty standard. 4 LED's that ran on about 20mA each all run off a 9V battery. They have a 30 degree viewing angle which makes it nice to light up a blaster. I placed them in differently that I used to. I usually tried to dremel out a half circle on either sides of the shell, but that never turned out the way I wanted, and there was usually gaps which I had to go over with hot glue making the job look less than professional. This time I decided to put all the holes on one side of the shell. Sure it's a little brighter on one side of the blaster than the other, but it's not by much and the holes are much cleaner. I put in hot glue on the inside of the blaster but you can't even see it. It looks much better and you can barely tell there are LED's in the blaster at first glance.

Overall I am very pleased with my work and now that I know i can produce them I think i'm going to be making many of these. At least til I run out of green LED's. I can make them for $30 per blaster. Shipping will be extra and if you want a pair I may be able to make a discount for that. Comment if you have any questions or are interested in have me make you one of these.

Pump Action Vulcan

Hey Guys BBV here and this is my pump action vulcan.

This is only the MkII version of the mechanism , as you can see it is a bit squint in some places, In the future i plan to make it out of polycarbonate or metal. I also plan to fashion some kind of running rails.

I think i am the first person to do this but if someone else has then PM me.

The reason i did this is so that you can have a fast shooting quieter vulcan and ultimately lighter seeing as you don't exaclty need the battery

Future Nerf Wars!

Hey everyone, it's Than. I just wanted to tell you that there are some wars coming up in my area that I will be attending. if you want to nerf or just see me these wars will be the time. There is an Airsoft grounds in Fremont NH called RPC Airsoft. Here's the link to they're nerfing page:

They hosted a war last saturday but nobody came besides me and my friend. but that allowed us to take a trip around the grounds of the place. I gotta say both me and my friend we heavily impressed and we see a lot of great wars taking place in this new arena. So the next two wars are the 23rd of June and the 21st of July. i have organized my church group and my nerfing friends together and we are going to have a great war there. If you can make it there I would LOVE to meet some of you and more  importantly nerf with you. I know it's a long ways but it will really be worth it if you can make it.

If you have been on any of the major Nerf blogs you might have seen that the new blasters are using a direct plunger system to shoot the darts (hopefully) 75'. All I can say it...

it's about freakin' time!!!!!

Some of the best blasters ever made were direct plunger blasters. Two of them being the Longshot and the Nite Finder. Direct plunger blasters just work better and the nerfing community has noticed that for years. It seems that Hasbro has finally taken notice of this. It also makes me feel better that Nerf is not just using a tougher spring and forgetting to put an AR in the blaster. I also love the fact that they are actually putting some good old R&D into it rather that just replacing the spring and calling it a new blaster. They are actually taking the time to rework the internals of the blaster and making them fit into the shells of the old blasters. Maybe Hasbro is changing for the better.

Also Miredthoughts pointed out that it looks like there is still plenty of modding potential in these blasters which is good. I would hate for the blasters to have things in them that making modding something you need to go to medical school for. But it seems like there is not a whole lotta mess, and I bet Orange Mod Works will soon have kits out there for them. I'm glad I will still be able mod it and tweak it at my leisure.

I'm thinking I'm going to get the Retaliator, and I would like to get the Rampage as well. I'm still on the fence about the Hailfire. I really think it has potential but i think to reach that potential you will have to spend a lot of money. Much like a fully modded Vulcan of the past.

I'm the New Guy

Hey everyone, this is Than. You may have seen me on the Foam Nation or on my Youtube page TheThanimal But now I am on this blog. I will be posting pictures and videos about my commissions and nerf projects as well as my thoughts about the brand in general.

To tell you a little bit about myself. I live in Maine, USA. I've been seriously modding for about a year. I have a stockpile of over 300 LED's of all colors and I know how to wire them into a blaster. I also do simple performance mods. I do take commissions and will gladly work with you to make your blaster a little brighter than all the rest.

Pretty soon I should be doing a few commissions and i will be making posts on them as well as videos. some of the possible commissions i have are a blue LED maverick, a yellow LED Alpha Trooper, a pair of radioactive mavericks, and either a radioactive recon or a radioactive longstrike.

I'm very happy to be able to have this blog where I can share my projects and thoughts about nerf. you have a nice day where ever you are and I will hear from you later.

My Secret Project Revaled Part 1: Internals Completed!

Hey guys it's TheRoboteer here. Sorry again for not posting in a while. I have had exams in science and maths so most of my time has been taken up. But onto the subject of this post. If you have spoken to me on Nerf Mods & Reviews, you will probably have heard that I am working on a super awesome secret project. Well, I thought that it was about time that I revealed the first part of this project.

I have completed the internals to the blaster!

It's a converted Water blaster with a replaced pump that has been, quite frankly butchered off of a Buzz bee water warriors Barracuda. A picture of the main blasters internals can be seen here: http://www.nerfmodsreviews.com/2009/06/lr-1200-storm-water-blaster.html.

The air tank. It's only slightly bigger than an SSPB tank. But it holds more pressure. It can hit 70'+ with stefans easily.

The Safean; A New Form of Stefan

Hey guys it's TheRoboteer here. Sorry for my lack of posts recently. I went back to school this week and i've been tied up in homework and such. Anyway, onto what this post is actually about. This week I was trying to devise a type of stefan that would equal the range of a regular stefan whilst being as safe as a stock dart.I did this by using no metallic or hard substances to weight the dart. I also used the head off a stock dart to act as cushioning for the projectile.


This is what I came up with.

As you can see it uses the head of a streamline to cushion the impact of the dart. The main body of the dart is a whistler (that's what that black disc is.) The only weight I used in this was a section of pencil eraser refill. In the back of the dart I also did what i consider to be a superior version of Drac's straw mod where, in the place of the straw I used a piece of vinyl tubing. Overall I think that I accomplished my goals as I shot myself in the arm with this stefan (fired from me Element.) and it stung for less than 5 seconds and did not leave a bruise or welt. It also only fires 5 feet less than a regular glue dome stefan weighted with 2 plastic BB's.

(hot glued tips + eyes = Blindness)

(while your nerfing you get hungry)

(no taste and healthy)
4: 4 nerf blasters
( if you break your nerf blaster switch it out)
5: finally signed nerf darts
(make sure you sign your darts or you will lose them)

Hey guys it's Longshot_bro and I thought of doing something called Blaster of the Week. Its when I choose my favorite foam blaster. This weeks one I chose is the hasbro Star Wars Rebel Blaster. The reason I chose this is because A it's a lot the like the NF which I really like and B the darts are so cool.     Hey guys Longshot_bro here and I'm sorry I haven't posted anything in a while thats just because I've had a lot of school work but now it's SPRING BREAK! So I will post a lot more hopefully! So I don't have a video or anything but I thought I'd just bore you with words.

    

                                      Clear Nerf Nite Finder EX-3 Mod

    So I've been thinking up a mod for the Nerf Nite Finder. My idea is to take out the AR, increase the seal (don't know if I spelled that right), by adding another O-ring, then I will add a Buzzbee Rapid Fire Tek spring, and doing a cpvc coupler mod. I think that's it for now but I might to an LED mod because I really like how lights look on clear blasters.

                                           Nerf Big Bad Bow Mod

    So another idea i've been thinking to do over spring break is a BBB mod. I don't know much about the blaster but I'm going to take out the AR, mod it to shoot darts, might add another spring if I can ( again I don't know much about the blaster). So I think that's all the internal mods I am going to do but im still thinking over a paint job.

                                              Nerf Maverick Mod

    I know this has been a lot of blasters but I have one more. So my friend "commissioned" me to mod his  Nerf Maverick. What I'm going to do is all the basic stuff like full barrel drop, AR removel, pennies in the spring and I think thats it. He also asked me to do a blue paint job all over but cover the handle and keep the barrel and priming mech black. Also he wants me to detail on the number 13 in roman numerals (XIII) (detailed on the priming mech, and where the maverick detailing used to be)

Sorry about this small faint font but I got stuck in it. (sorry). So thats it for now but I'll show you what all these mods look like when there done.

Nerf Rampage

Ok I know this is old news but I'm bored so i decided to torture you with pure text.
But first to make this more dramatic

Ok the Rampage as we all know is a Raider on steroids.
I have seen some comments saying ' Y U NO HAVE 35 DRUM '.

 Ok I think the reason is because when your in a Nerf war the 35 dart drum is heavy, bulky and slows you down also it is lopsided but the 20 dart drum is lighter, well balanced and you can run with out becoming tired. The colour is a darker blue than the Nerf Raider and also has silver and black detailing on the shell. The internals might not have any AR's and it might have a strong spring but if there is an AR when you modify the blaster the back of the plunger wont smack
  (If you modify a nerf recon without padding it then you will know what i mean.)

My Big Blast

Hey guys it's TheRoboteer here.  This post is about my Buzz Bee Big Blast (or 4b as they are known on the NIC). I hear that they are pretty hard to get now, so I was lucky. I got mine in a twin pack from TKmaxx in 2010.

Anyway. Let's move on to the mods.

 The most noticiable thing is the giant longstrike (or LSk) barrel poking out the front

The barrel. It's 1 foot long and is made from 15mm PEX tube
